In his constant care by Greg Olsen
As the last third or so of this year rolls winds up I reflex on all of the happenings so far of 2009. It truly has been a year that I have had to rely on lots of faith. I know we are promised that we will never be given more than we can handle. I also know that our Savior has felt all the pain and suffering we will ever feel and that gives me comfort to know he knows me and feels what I am going through at this time. I think of that call of my Mother very ill and I did not know if I would make it to tell her and my father of my love and appreciation for them. I think of the economy and the hardship it has placed on so many families and the loss we all feel. I see the signs of the times and know that we are truly in the winding down of time as we know it and very soon the Savior will come to our rescue from all this evil. My heart aches for so many that have lost close ones this year. It seems that it has hit so close to home and heart. I watch the struggles of my own children and grandchildren and the trials in their life. I so wish that I could take the pain away and just take it all. I so much just want to fix it and have no sadness in their lives. I have come to realize that some things are just out of my hands and not of my choice. Yet, I know that though obedience I will be a better person though all of this and so will they. There is good also--to be able to work with my family and experience the things we do is great. I have a son serving a very honorable mission in Oregon and we are receiving great blessing from his sacrifice and willingness to serve his Heavenly Father. We have a new baby coming next month. What joy my children and grandchildren bring into my life. I was able to go to the temple with my parents and all of my brothers and sisters except one brother who could not get off from work this year. My heart was so full as I looked around the room into each of their faces. I love them dearly. We have had an awesome experience with Rich in the bishopric up at BYU-I and have learn so much from Bishop Shumway. He is such a great teacher in following the commandments. Yes, this life is meant to be a test--but why so many tests one after another? Yet, when I look at the test others have to take--I'll keep my own. I don't want their tests at all. I know I have been preparing my whole life for what is before me this day. I pray that I'll be able to master each test and do my Father's will. I'm so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and for it's teaching. I'm grateful for angels on both sides of the veil that are there to help along the way. I don't know if I will publish this post or keep it very long on my blog. I just knew that I needed to express feelings and put it in my journal of life. To those that endured this--thanks--thanks for your love and friendship. To my family that doesn't have a choice in being related to me, thanks for loving me anyway. I love and appreciate all of you!Tuesday, September 1, 2009

Happy Birthday Katelyn & Maddy

Rich & I are so lucky to have two precious Granddaughters born on the same day. We want both Katelyn & Maddy to know how much we love them and how important they are to our family. They had a fun birthday party! Thanks for inviting us!
